Our story

Expense reports should not exist.

Mylo turns the receipts, cards and inboxes you already have into clean, categorized expenses. No new card. No data entry. No Sunday night spent matching line items to a statement. We are building the expense copilot for the way money already moves.

The problem

Expense management got stuck in 2009.

The category has had a decade of funding and it still asks the same thing of you: change your card, change your habits, and do the data entry anyway. Three frictions keep everyone trapped.

The corporate-card tax

Every modern expense tool asks you to move your spend onto their card. That means a credit application, a migration, and giving up the points you already earn. Most people and most small teams simply will not do it.

The shoebox problem

Receipts live in four inboxes, a dozen store accounts, and a literal pile in a drawer. The record of what you bought and the charge on your card almost never meet in the same place.

The Sunday-night reconcile

So someone spends their evening matching line items to statements by hand, chasing missing receipts, and re-typing it all into a spreadsheet. It is the most automatable work in the building, still done by humans.

Our insight

The cards already won. We build on top of them.

Trillions of dollars already flow through the Visa, Mastercard and Amex cards in people's pockets. The incumbents ignore all of it and try to capture spend by issuing yet another card. That is a heavy lift, it locks out anyone who likes their rewards, and it leaves the existing rails completely untouched.

Mylo makes the opposite bet. Meet money where it already moves. With read-only access to inboxes, store accounts and bank feeds, anyone with a phone and a card can be set up in minutes, solo or as a team. The wedge is distribution: there is nothing to apply for and nothing to switch.

Old way Apply for a new card
The Mylo way Keep every card you have

Same cards, same points, same habits. Mylo just adds the layer of meaning that was always missing.

How it works

Three jobs, fully automated.

Everything Mylo does folds into one quiet loop that runs in the background while you get on with your work.

Every receipt, found for you

Capture

Every receipt, found for you

Mylo reads your inboxes and store accounts with read-only access, pulls out the receipts and loyalty details, and ignores everything else. Snap a paper one with the camera and it is in too.

Matched to the cards you carry

Match

Matched to the cards you carry

Connect the Visa, Mastercard and Amex you already use through Plaid. Mylo lines each receipt up with the right transaction automatically, so the what and the how-much finally live together.

Answers, not spreadsheets

Understand

Answers, not spreadsheets

Ask in plain English and get the number, the receipts behind it, and a finished expense report. Clean, categorized expenses sync straight to QuickBooks so the books stay tidy on their own.

Why now

Three things just became true at once.

Mylo was not buildable five years ago. The market, the data and the models all turned the corner at the same time.

AI finally reads money

Models can now parse any receipt format and answer real questions about spend in plain language. The hard part of expensing, understanding messy documents, became a solved problem almost overnight.

Open banking grew up

Plaid and bank-grade connections put transaction data one tap away from more than 12,000 institutions. The rails to match a receipt to a charge are finally universal.

Work went distributed

More contractors, more small teams, more people spending on their own cards. Nobody wants a finance department babysitting expense reports, and now they do not need one.

The opportunity

Every card swipe needs context.

Spend and expense management is already a multi-billion-dollar software category, and it still only touches a sliver of the cards people actually swipe. The far larger surface is every transaction that ships without a receipt, a category, or a reason.

That surface grows with every freelancer, every small team, and every employee who spends on a card. Whoever gives those transactions meaning, automatically and on the rails people already use, sits underneath a very large amount of money.

How we build

Principles we do not break.

Meet people where they are

No new card, no migration, no behavior change. We build on the cards, inboxes and accounts people already have.

Boring plumbing, magic surface

Bank-grade infrastructure underneath, a one-tap experience on top. The complexity is ours to carry, not yours.

Privacy is the product

Read-only access, scoped to receipts and loyalty. You decide exactly what is ever shared or exported. Always.

Automate the dread, not the judgment

Mylo does the finding, matching and filing. You stay in control of every call that actually matters.

One user or the whole team

The solo freelancer and the finance lead should both feel at home on day one. We design for both at once.

Earn every tap of access

Connecting an inbox or a bank is a big ask. We treat that trust as something to be earned again every day.

Where this goes

From expense reports to a financial copilot.

Capturing and matching receipts is the wedge, not the destination. As Mylo learns the full shape of how you spend, it becomes the layer that gives every transaction meaning: more sources, deeper accounting integrations, real team controls, and answers before you think to ask. The chore disappears, and what is left is clarity.

Built for people who hate expense reports.

Put your expenses on autopilot in a few minutes, on the cards you already carry.
