Does Mylo sync receipts to QuickBooks automatically?

Short answer
Mylo captures and reads receipts automatically, then syncs the resulting expenses to QuickBooks once they are approved. There is also an optional receipts inbox email to forward receipts straight to QuickBooks.
It helps to split this into two halves. Capture and categorization are fully automatic: Mylo pulls receipts from scans, email, store accounts and matched cards, then reads each one into an expense with the category already set. The export to QuickBooks, though, waits for approval on purpose, so your books only ever receive spend that has been reviewed. That is the difference between automatic capture and automatic accounting.
On the way in, expense categories map to your QuickBooks accounts, so approved expenses land in the right place without manual recategorization. The flow is capture automatically, approve deliberately, then export cleanly.
For times when you want a receipt in QuickBooks directly, there is an optional receipts inbox email. You forward a receipt to that address and it goes straight into QuickBooks, which is handy for the occasional one-off outside the normal Mylo lifecycle.
How it works in Mylo
- Capture and categorization are automatic across scans, email, store accounts and matched cards.
- The QuickBooks export happens after approval, so your books stay clean.
- Expense categories map to your QuickBooks accounts on the way in.
- Export approved expenses individually or in bulk from the approval queue.
- The optional receipts inbox email forwards a receipt directly into QuickBooks.
- Exported expenses flip to an exported state and carry a QuickBooks reference.
Best practices
- Approve on a regular cadence so expenses flow to QuickBooks without a backlog.
- Use the receipts inbox email for one-off forwards, and Mylo capture for everything else.
- Confirm your category mapping so approved expenses hit the correct accounts.
