Receipts
Can I text a receipt to Mylo?

Short answer
Yes, where texting is enabled for your number. Turn on text-in receipts in Settings, then text a photo of the receipt to your Mylo number and it is filed automatically.
Text-in is built for the moment you have a receipt in hand but not the app open. You opt in under Settings, which records your consent and shows you the Mylo number to text, then you send a photo of the receipt straight from your messages app. Mylo reads it with the same AI parser and files it for you.
How much you type controls what happens next. Add a caption and the expense is submitted right away. Skip the caption and Mylo texts back to ask what it was for, so it still gets categorized before it lands. Either way you never open the app to capture the receipt.
Availability depends on your carrier: photo text-in is rolling out carrier by carrier, so it may not be live for every number yet. Scan and email capture work everywhere today, so text-in is a convenience layer on top rather than the only way in.
How it works in Mylo
- Opt in under Settings, which records your consent and shows you the Mylo number.
- Text a photo of the receipt to that number from your normal messages app.
- Add a caption and the expense is submitted right away.
- Skip the caption and Mylo texts back to ask what it was for.
- Text-in is where enabled by carrier, so availability depends on your number.
- Scan and email capture work everywhere today if text-in is not available for you.
Best practices
- Use text-in for one-off receipts when you do not have the app open.
- Add a short caption so the expense submits without a follow-up reply.
- Fall back to Scan or email capture if text-in is not yet enabled for your carrier.
