Receipts
Does camera-roll auto-import upload all my photos?

Short answer
No. Camera-roll detection runs on your device, and a photo only leaves your phone when you tap Import on a receipt Mylo found. Nothing else is uploaded.
Camera-roll auto-import is designed so your photo library stays yours. When you turn on the feature, Mylo scans your library to detect which photos are receipts, and that detection happens entirely on-device. Your other photos are never sent anywhere as part of this, because the only thing that ever uploads is a receipt you explicitly choose to bring in.
The detected receipts collect in a review queue, each shown with a thumbnail, merchant, amount and date so you can tell at a glance what Mylo found. You stay in control per item: Import a receipt to bring it in, Dismiss one to skip it, or Import all when you want to clear the batch. A photo only leaves your phone at the moment you tap Import.
This runs on iPhone and Android, where an on-device photo library exists to scan. On the web there is no camera roll to detect from, so you use Scan there instead. The privacy model is the whole point: detection on your device, upload only on your tap.
How it works in Mylo
- Turn on camera-roll import and Mylo scans your library on the device to detect receipts.
- Detection happens on-device; nothing is uploaded until you act on a specific receipt.
- Detected receipts collect in a review queue with a thumbnail, merchant, amount and date.
- You choose what to bring in with Import or Dismiss per receipt, or Import all.
- A photo only leaves your phone when you tap Import on it.
- Camera-roll auto-detection runs on iPhone and Android; on the web you use Scan.
Best practices
- Review the queue regularly so receipts do not pile up in your photo library.
- Dismiss anything that is not a receipt to keep future scans accurate.
- Use Import all when you trust the batch, and go one by one when you want to check first.
